About Dee Mnguni

Duduzile Mnguni, born and raised in Mpumalanga (Middelburg) 1995. Her interest in fine art developed in her formative years as a pre-teenager where she explored the mediums of pen and paper. She further developed her practice as a student at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in the Fine and Applied Arts department. In 2018 she obtained a Diploma in Fine Art majoring in Drawing and Ceramic. She further obtained a B Tech in Fine Art where she majored in drawing 2019. She interned at Fried Contemporary art gallery in 2018, she also finished as a runner up in the painting category for the My Middelburg Art Competition during the same year. In 2019, Duduzile worked as a Drawing tutor in Fine and Applied Arts department at TUT. During 2019 she was also named amongst the top 500 for the Sanlam Portrait Award, she was also named amongst the top 100 in Thami Mnyele Art Awards, and Top 20 in the drawing category. Duduzile participated in the Living Pallet exhibition at Trent Gallery in 2019. She was also part of the Living Legends exhibition at The Javett Art Centre in 2019. In 2020, she worked as a tour guide at Modern Art Projects South Africa for three months. Duduzile was part of the top 50 emerging creatives in South Africa for the Design Indaba 2020. She was featured in the IQhawe Magazine issue8 2020 and Tsa Art Magazine 2020

In 2021, she was one of the 15 artists to work under the CAP training program for young adults under the umbrella of the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme. Duduzile was selected as top 100 Thaminyeli Arts Awards 2021. In 2022 and 2023 she participated in group exhibitions at Terra contemporary gallery. Duduzile was selected for PESP 4 Art Creation by Art Bank South Africa in 2023 and 2024 to create art works for Oliewenhuis Art Museum as part of their collection. In 2025 she was part of the Young Creatives program from Sport arts and culture. Currently she is part of an Art organization called Edutainment.
